Off Topic

OK, one thing that does piss me off is comments that intentionally try to steer the conversation off topic. If your comments don’t get approved or removed, that’s probably why.

This means YOU, Jim.

Oh, and this isn’t open to discussion. (See? Commenting disabled.)

Be Afraid

I’m not worried that the “conservative” machine is angling to put up another easily manipulated idiot like Dubya as their candidate for president. I’m not worried that each of these idiots seems willing to march lockstep to the orders of Big Money.

I take no comfort in how they seem to have no worries about alienating more and more voters.

What scares me is that they expect to win. And there must be a reason they think they can win the next round of elections IN SPITE OF THE MAJORITY.

Moral Grounds

A lot of hubbub over the recent birth control mandate in Obamacare (which I understand is almost identical to Romneycare, only evil). Now the fundamentalist right is hollering for employers to have the right to refuse coverage for anything they find objectionable under “moral grounds.”

I call bullshit.

Most employers, religious or not, have a bottom line based on money. Not having to pay for things you can avoid is good. Very few employers look at benefits of any kind in a positive light, with the usual exception of lining the pockets of the executive tier.

Business morality IS money. The corporate god is Mamon.

So if you let ANY employer cut benefits on “moral grounds,” you can bet they ALL can find something to object too.

Riot Gear

One of my hopes is that out of all this we’ll see some clear limitations on crowd control methods used by police. I realize that its necessary for police to protect themselves from the rock throwing anarchists that hide among the Occupy movement. But gross misuses should involve immediate terminations and automatic criminal proceedings.

Where did this come from, anyway?

Anyone scrutinizing this blog may point out that many of the posts are older than the domain name. As though they’d been backdated.

Damn straight! These are posts I’d originally shared on my webcomic, Too Much Information. I pulled them from the site when it became a distraction for myself and actual readers.

But I have a voice, dammit! And I will be heard.

Cheers!
